Sooner Duo to Compete in U.S. Women's Amateur

NORMAN - OU senior Ellen Secor and junior Kaitlin Milligan will take part in the 2019 U.S. Women's Amateur beginning Monday at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
Competing in a field of 156 competitors, the Sooner duo will play 36 holes over Monday and Tuesday before the field cuts to 64 competitors for a match play tournament. The match play rounds, held Wednesday through Sunday, will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
Secor opens her first round on the back nine at 7:15 a.m. CT while Milligan tees off the front at 12:15 p.m. CT.
A transfer from Colorado State, Secor will have one year of elligibility with the Sooners. She reached the U.S. Women's Amateur by placing third at a qualifying tournament in Depont, Wash. The senior hopes to continue her string of success in USGA events after winning the 2018 U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
Milligan enters the tournament coming off a solid spring that included winning the NCAA Norman Regional title. The junior was named to the 2019 All-Big 12 Team and finished the season with a 72.43 stroke average, which ranks as the fourth lowest in program history. She finished in fifth at a qualifying event in Southlake, Texas to earn her spot in the U.S. Women's Amateur.
