NORMAN – University of Oklahoma gymnast Brian Schibler has been named to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-America first team, the organization announced last week. Schibler is one of four Division I men's gymnasts that collected first team honors.

Additionally, the 2019 OU graduate was named to the Academic All-District At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, last month and named an MPSF Scholar Athlete and a member of the Academic All-Big 12 At-Large Team at the conclusion of the season.

Schibler garnered second-team CoSIDA All-America accolades to go along with All-District honors in 2018.

The biomedical sciences and Spanish double major finished the year with a cumulative 4.00 grade point average. He is one of 27 NCAA Division I first-team All-America honorees with a perfect GPA.

A pommel horse specialist, Schibler competed in all 11 meets in 2019. He earned his first career All-America honor at the NCAA Championships, taking seventh on pommel horse at the meet following exceptional sets of 13.933 and 13.766 in prelims and team finals.
