NORMAN – Redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas won two event titles as the No. 2 Oklahoma men's gymnastics team claimed five individual titles on its way to a team total of 328.650 — the highest score in the nation this season — and victories over No. 3 Ohio State (317.700) and No. 13 Air Force (303.050) in front of a crowd of 1,862 on Cleveland and Alumni Night.
Benas won the floor exercise title with a 13.850 and the high bar title with his stuck 13.950. Sophomore Colby Aranda won the pommel horse title with a career-high 14.500, sophomore Francisco Velez Belendez claimed the still rings title with a 13.950 and junior Tyler Flores and freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk shared the vault title, both sticking their landings to score 14.550.
"It was extraordinary," Oklahoma head coach Mark Williams said. "I told the guys that we really needed to put up a big score, that we were going to have a well-attended meet, and it would be an opportunity for us to climb back up in the rankings. We had better landings and a higher hit percentage all the way around. It was a great day for us, and I can't thank the people enough for coming out and supporting men's gymnastics."
OU won five team events, posting a 54.750 on floor exercise, 56.150 on pommel horse, 54.150 on still rings, 53.050 on parallel bars and 54.100 on high bar. The Sooners earned second place on vault, scoring a 56.450, just .200 behind Ohio State. Oklahoma's scores on floor, pommel horse, rings, vault and high bar were all team highs this season.
The Sooners posted the four highest scores on floor, with junior Nico Hamilton placing second with a season-high 13.750, Bogonosiuk finishing third with a 13.650 and redshirt junior Leo Koike earning fourth with a 13.650. Senior Ignacio Yockers scored a 14.150 to earn second place on pommel horse while Tyler Flores tied for fourth (13.900). Junior Tas Hajdu placed second on still rings with a season-high 13.850, while fifth-year senior Brigham Frentheway earned fourth with a season-high 13.450.
Benas earned fourth on vault with a season-high 14.250. Hajdu scored a 13.350 on parallel bars to earn third, with Flores finishing fourth (13.200). Hamilton earned second on high bar with a career-high 13.600.
In all, Oklahoma set or tied 12 individual season highs and three career-best marks, while sticking seven dismounts. The Sooners registered five scores of 14.000 or better and notched a 9.0 or better execution score on five routines.
The Sooners are now unbeaten against their last 79 regular season opponents, encompassing 66 consecutive regular season meets, inside McCasland Field House, dating back to the 2007 season. OU's only defeat in the field house during that time was in the 2024 MPSF Championship when it finished second to Stanford.

Up Next
Oklahoma is off next weekend before Benas, Bogonosiuk and freshman Nathan Roman take part in USA Gymnastics Winter Cup, which will be held Feb. 21-22 in Louisville, Ky. Alumnus Yul Moldauer and signees Dante Reive and Hunter Simpson are also qualified for Winter Cup.
The Sooners return to McCasland Field House on Feb. 28 to face No. 5 Nebraska. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT, with introductions at 5:45 p.m. It will be Educator Appreciation Night and Greek Night, featuring an OU hat giveaway and $2 takeover (beer, soda and popcorn). The team will sign autographs after the meet.
