Eight Sooners Earn Regular Season All-America Recognition

March 25, 2026 | Men's Gymnastics

NORMAN – Oklahoma men's gymnastics freshman Sasha Bogonosiuk was named a regular-season All-American on two events, and a total of eight Sooners earned regular-season All-America honors, the College Gymnastics Association announced Wednesday.

Bogonosiuk received regular season All-America recognition on floor exercise and vault. Redshirt freshman Colby Aranda and senior Ignacio Yockers were named All-Americans on pommel horse, and sophomore Francisco Velez Belendez was named an All-American on still rings. Redshirt senior Fuzzy Benas was named an All-American on vault, and freshman Nathan Roman earned All-America recognition on parallel bars. Senior Kelton Christiansen and redshirt sophomore Brandon Zepeda-Orth were named All-Americans on horizontal bar.

Regular-season All-Americans have been recognized by the CGA since the 2020 season. The top eight-ranked gymnasts and ties on each event and in the all-around, based on four-score average, receive CGA regular-season All-America honors.

Bogonosiuk is tied for third on vault (14.267) and ranks eighth nationally on floor (13.767). He is the only freshman in the nation to earn two regular-season All-America honors and is the highest-ranked freshman on both events.

Yockers and Christiansen have each earned CGA regular-season All-America honors in all four of their collegiate seasons. Yockers, a Tulsa, Okla., native, ranks fifth nationally on pommel horse (14.317). Christiansen, an Arvada, Colo., product, ranks first nationally on high bar (14.083).

Velez Belendez, who is from San Juan, Puerto Rico, ranks second nationally on still rings (13.983). He also earned regular-season All-America honors on rings as a freshman last season. Zepeda-Orth, a Wheat Ridge, Colo., product, ranks eighth nationally on high bar (13.717) and earned his first career regular-season All-America honor.

Benas has earned seven career regular-season All-America honors, the most of any Sooner gymnast. The Richmond, Texas, product ranks eighth nationally on vault (14.150), marking his second career regular-season All-America honor on the event.

Roman and Aranda join Bogonosiuk as three of the five freshmen in the country to earn regular-season All-America honors. Roman, a Poway, Calif., product, ranks first nationally on parallel bars (14.200). Aranda, who is from Grapevine, Texas, ranks fourth nationally on pommel horse (14.350).
