NORMAN – The No. 31 Oklahoma women's tennis team is on the road for two matches this weekend when it travels to Wichita State Saturday before a Sunday Bedlam clash at No. 12 Oklahoma State.
The Sooners (14-5) split their last weekend of competition, falling to Texas 4-3 before blanking Baylor 7-0. OU is 4-2 against Big 12 opponents and sits in fifth place in the conference standings.
OU is led by Oleksandra Korashvili at the top spot in singles. Korashvili checks in at No. 23 in the latest ITA release and has compiled a 14-4 record on the year. The junior has downed six nationally-ranked opponents this season and has dropped just one match in Big 12 competition.
In addition to Korashvili, two more Sooners have wins in double figures. Martina Capurro is 10-5, playing primarily at the No. 2 spot while Camila Romero is 13-5 between courts three and four. Romero and Capurro lead the Sooners in doubles wins, combining for a 12-4 record on court two.
The Shockers come into the match at 11-8 overall and have won their last three matches. In its last weekend of competition, Wichita State swept both UMKC (4-0) and Drake (7-0).
Fatima Bizhukova is the Shockers' representative in the ITA rankings, where she sits at No. 106. Bizhukova is 3-0 on the season with all her wins coming at the top spot and has tallied two victories over ranked opponents.
In doubles, Bizhukova and Marta Bellucco are No. 26 nationally with a 1-4 record on court one.
The teams last met in 2018 in Norman with Wichita State prevailing 5-2.
No. 12 Oklahoma State enters the weekend at 14-6 overall and 5-1 in Big 12 play. The Cowgirls are set to host No. 24 UCF Friday.
OSU swept Baylor 7-0 before falling to No. 6 Texas 5-2 in its last weekend of competition.
Three Cowgirls were ranked in the latest ITA singles release. No. 38 Katarina Stresnakova is 9-8, playing primarily on court one. Marina Guinart was tabbed No. 102 and owns a 12-2 record between courts three and four. No. 119 Bunyawi Thamchaiwat is 9-8 overall with a 5-1 mark at the No. 3 line.
In doubles, Sofia Blanco and Catherine Gulihur are No. 21 nationally with a 9-3 record on court one. Blanco and Lisa Marie Rioux are No. 38 and are 0-2 on the year.
The teams last met in the 2018 Big 12 Championships quarterfinals, where the Cowgirls prevailed 4-1.

The Sooners take one last Big 12 road trip to Texas Tech on April 12 and TCU April 14.
