NORMAN – The No. 30 Oklahoma women's tennis team continues Big 12 play at Headington Family Tennis Center to host No. 6 Texas Friday at 4 p.m. CT and Baylor Sunday at 11 a.m.

Both contests will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma.

Oklahoma

OU (13-4, 3-1) swept its first Big 12 road trip of the season, defeating West Virginia 5-2 before flying past Iowa State 6-1.

At West Virginia, the Sooners won the doubles point, then tallied singles wins from Oleksandra Korashvili, Jasmine Asghar, Camila Romero and Ivana Corley.

Oklahoma again took the doubles point at Iowa State before Korashvili, Capurro, Romero, Motosono and Corley all grabbed wins in singles.

The Sooners are off to their best start to conference play under Coach Cohen at 3-1 through two weekends of Big 12 action. A win this weekend would tie OU's previous Big 12 season highs under Cohen.

Where They Rank

The Sooners check in at No. 30 in the latest ITA team rankings.

Korashvili is No. 19 nationally with a 13-3 record. The junior vaulted 21 spots in the latest ITA rankings to become the highest-ranked player in the Big 12 conference. She remains undefeated on court one (9-0) and against league opponents (4-0).

In doubles, Camila Romero and Martina Capurro are No. 78 and have compiled a 10-3 record at the No. 2 line.

Scouting the Longhorns

No. 6 Texas enters Friday's matchup with at 9-3 overall and 2-0 in Big 12 action. The Longhorns have won their last three consecutive matches, all in Austin.

Texas' singles lineup features four ranked players. Anna Turati is No. 42 with a 9-2 record on court two. Turati rides an eight-match winning streak. No. 52 Petra Ganic is a perfect 6-0 overall, with all her wins comng at the No. 3 line.

Bianca Turati was tabbed No. 75 and owns a 7-3 record on court one with four wins over ranked opponents this season. No. 105 Bojana Markovic is 5-5 between courts three and four.

The teams last met in 2018 in Austin, where the Longhorns prevailed 4-0.

Scouting the Bears

Baylor enters the weekend at 6-5 overall and 1-2 against the Big 12. The Bears picked up their first win in 15 matches in their most recent competition, defeating No. 36 Kansas State 4-3 in Waco.

Baylor will face Oklahoma State Friday before making the trip to Norman.

Livia Kraus is Baylor's representative in the ITA singles rankings, where she checks in at No. 59. Kraus is 11-7 on the season, playing primarily on court one. Jessica Hinojosa leads the Bears in wins with a 12-8 mark.

In doubles, Hinojosa and Kristina Sorokolet are 3-3 at the top spot.

Baylor won the last meeting between the teams in 2018 in Waco 5-0.
