NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team continues Big 12 play on the road this weekend with a Friday clash at West Virginia, followed by a meeting with Iowa State Sunday.
OU (11-4, 1-1 Big 12) split its first weekend of conference action, downing No. 33 Kansas State 5-2 and falling to No. 10 Kansas 4-3.
Oleksandra Korashvili once again led the charge for OU, winning both her matches at the top spot over the weekend. The junior handed Kansas' Anastasia Rychagova her first loss of the season with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory to earn her third consecutive Big 12 Player of the Week award.
Scouting the Mountaineers
West Virginia enters the contest at 8-5 overall and 0-3 in Big 12 matches. The Mountaineers fell to No. 25 Texas Tech 6-1 and TCU 4-0 on the road in their last weekend of competition.
Paula Goetz and Christina Jordan have split time at the No. 1 line. Goetz is 4-4 on the season while Jordan is 3-5. Anne-Sophie Courteau leads WVU in wins with a 9-4 mark, playing primarily on court five.
In doubles, Courteau and Abigail Rosiello have combined for a 5-1 mark at the three spot.
Scouting Iowa State
The Cyclones are 5-6 entering the weekend and own a 1-2 mark against Big 12 opponents. Iowa State has dropped its last three contests, including a 6-1 loss at Texas Tech and a 5-2 loss to TCU.
