NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team kicks off its six-match homestand Sunday with a doubleheader featuring Purdue at 10 a.m. and UMKC at 4 p.m.

Oklahoma

The Sooners enter Sunday's matchups with a 6-3 record on the year, good for a ranking of No. 28 in the latest ITA team release.

OU split its last weekend of competition, falling to then-No. 48 Florida 4-2 before bouncing back for a 4-1 win over USF. OU won the doubles point, then picked up singles wins from Oleksandra Korashvili, Jasmine Asghar and Skyler Miller to close out the Bulls.

Korashvili is the Sooners' representative in the ITA singles release, where she checks in at No. 60 nationally with a 5-3 record at the No. 2 line.

In doubles, Korashvili and Kianah Motosono remain undefeated (6-0) on court three and have clinched four doubles points for the Sooners. OU has given up the doubles point just once this year against Texas A&M.

Scouting Purdue

Purdue is 5-4 on the season. The Boilermakers have lost their last three matches against Notre Dame (4-0), Washington State (4-0) and then-No. 29 Tennessee (7-0).

Purude will face Tulsa Saturday before traveling to Norman.

Silvia Ambrosio leads the squad at the top spot with a 4-2 record. Ambrosio was tabbed No. 17 in the latest ITA singles rankings and is 2-0 against ranked opponents this season.

In doubles Ambrosoio and Amina Mukhametshina are 5-1 from the No. 1 line.

OU is 2-1 all-time against Purdue with the last meeting in 2014. The Sooners dominated the matchup 6-1.

Scouting UMKC

UMKC has compiled a 3-5 record on the season. The Roos swept Missouri State 4-0 in their last contest and will face Kansas State Saturday on the road.

Michela Xibilia and Katie Fries have split time on court one with each owning a 1-2 record there. Yana Grechkin is 3-2 at the No. 2 and 3 lines and Riddhi Sharma is 3-3 on courts three and four.

In doubles, Grechkin and Xibilia are 2-1 at the top spot.

OU last faced UMKC in 2017 when the Sooners bounced the Roos 6-1 in Norman. Oklahoma is undefeated (2-0) in the all-time series with UMKC.
