OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Former Oklahoma women's tennis player Jessica (Braver) Reineke was inducted into the Oklahoma Tennis Hall of Fame Sunday.
A native of Oklahoma City, Reineke played at OU from 2002-2005. During her career in the Crimson and Cream, Reineke racked up over 100 victories and earned the Outstanding OU Student-Athlete Award in 2004 and the Athletic Director's Leadership Award in 2005. She was named an ITA Academic All-American, a Big 12 Academic All-American, and the College Sports Information Directors of America Award winner for District Six.
Reineke followed in the footsteps of her father Rob Braver and Uncle Joe Braver, who played tennis at Oklahoma in the 1980s.
In 2011, Reienke founded the Britton Christian Church Tennis Academy (BCCTA) in an effort to give local youth an opportunity to play sports after school. Today, more than 60 children are actively involved in BCCTA on a weekly basis.
The organization also hosts an annual summer camp and sponsors a junior league tennis team, outreach programs at nearby Britton Elementary school, Sunday Fun Day! events and Los Gatos Tennis and Reading Club, whose aim is to tutor children from Spanish-speaking homes in school and in tennis.
BCCTA was also honored Sunday, receiving the USTA's Community Service Award for the Missouri Valley section.
