NORMAN —The University of Oklahoma track and field teams return to action this weekend for the Big 12 Indoor Championship, held Friday and Saturday at the Sports Performance Center on the campus of Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. This season marks the first time the Red Raiders have hosted the event.

The competition will begin Friday at 10 a.m. CT with the 60-meter hurdles of the women's pentathlon. Freshman Madison Langley-Walker will be competing in the pentathlon for the Sooners, with all five events on Friday. Freshman Kristo Simulask and junior Hutch Helbig will compete in the men's heptathlon beginning at 10:15 a.m.

The field and running events scheduled for Friday will begin at 3 p.m. with the women's weight throw and pole vault. The Sooners will have three competing in the women's weight throw and five entries in the women's pole vault. The men's and women's mile prelims will start at 3:10 p.m. with one Sooner in the women's race and two in the men's race. Events will continue until the conclusion of the women's and men's DMR, set to start at 7:40 p.m. and 8 p.m., respectively.

The championship will continue at 11 a.m. CT Saturday morning with the continuation of the men's heptathlon. There will be three events remaining on day two in the heptathlon: 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000-meter run. The women's shot put along with the men's and women's triple jump will begin the field events Saturday. Running events will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the men's and women's 60-meter hurdles.
