November 05, 2019 | Men's Tennis

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma's Mason Beiler is set to open the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships Wednesday in Newport Beach, Calif.

Beiler was an at-large selection for the 64-player singles draw, which features teams from all five divisions. The New Port Richey, Fla., product is one of eight Big 12 selections who will play in the event.

Beiler's successful fall season saw him an 8-3 mark with a consolation finals appearance at the Battle in the Bay and a run to the ITA Central Region Championships quarterfinals. Beiler, who was unranked, tallied three wins over three ranked opponents in No. 86 Luc Fomba (TCU), No. 32 Gui Osorio (San Diego) and No. 39 Parker Wynn (Texas Tech).

2019 marks the third straight season a Sooner will compete at the ITA National Fall Championships. Junior Jake Van Emburgh competed in the 2018 tournament, while former Sooner Ferran Calvo made an appearance in 2017.

The tournament's singles final will be aired on ESPN3 on Sunday, Nov. 10.

Draws will be released at a later time.
