Sooners to Host Regional Championships

NORMAN — The Oklahoma men's tennis team is set to host the ITA Central Region Championships at the Headington Family Tennis Center beginning Thursday.
The competition runs Oct. 24-29 and will feature players from 16 teams in the Central Region. The tournament format is a 128-player singles draw and a 64-team doubles draw.
Mason Beiler, Jochen Bertsch, Mark Mandlik, Matt Rodriguez, Max Stewart, Stefano Tsorotiotis and Jake Van Emburgh are set to compete in the singles main draw.
In doubles, OU will be represented by three teams: Van Emburgh and Mandlik; Bersch and Rodriguez; and Beiler and Stewart.
The regional doubles champions and singles champions will qualify for the Oracle IT National Fall Championship that will take place in New Port Beach, Calif. on Nov. 6.
Draws will be released at a later time. Matches will begin at 8 a.m. CT and admission is free to the public. More information can be found on the tournament page.
