NORMAN – The No. 50 Oklahoma women's tennis team heads to the Sunflower State to wrap up its Big 12 conference slate at No. 38 Kansas State Friday, followed by No. 16 Kansas on Sunday.

Oklahoma

The Sooners enter the weekend at 13-10 overall and 3-4 in the Big 12. In its last weekend of competition, OU suffered a narrow, 4-3 loss to then No. 13 Texas Tech before taking down TCU, 4-1, in the final home match of the season.

Oklahoma re-entered the ITA team rankings this week at No. 50 following the win over the Horned Frogs.

Lily Miyazaki leads OU from the No. 1 line, where she has compiled a record of 13-5 and rides a four-match winning streak. The senior checked in at No. 38 in the latest ITA rankings, up three spots from her previous mark of No. 41.

Fellow senior Christie Brigante has also reached double-digits in singles wins with a 10-6 record on courts two and three, while Malene Stripp is not far behind at 9-4.

In doubles, Brigante and Jasmine Asghar have compiled a record of 9-7 at the top spot and have clinched five doubles points for the Sooners this season.

Scouting Kansas State

No. 38 Kansas State comes into Friday's contest at 14-7 overall and 3-2 in league play. In their last match, the Wildcats were defeated by in-state rival Kansas, 4-1, in Manhattan.

Maria Linares leads K-State in singles wins with a record of 12-4 on courts one through four. Three more Wildcats have reached double digits in singles wins: Carolina Costamagna is 10-8 on the year; Rosanna Maffei is 11-7, and Ines Mesquita has compiled an 11-4 record, winning her last four matches straight.

In doubles, Costamagna and Margot Decker are 10-7 from the top spot.

The last time the teams met, No. 41 OU handled unranked Kansas State, 4-2, in Norman in the final regular season contest at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Scouting Kansas

No. 16 Kansas is 14-4 on the year with a 6-1 mark in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks pushed their winning streak to six matches when they defeated Kansas State, 4-1, in their last match. The only Big 12 match KU has dropped was to then-No. 12 Texas, which also marked its only home loss of the season. In singles, No. 6 Anastasia Rychagova owns an 8-1 mark at the top spot. Despoina Vogasari has compiled a 12-4 record on courts one and two, and checks in at No. 68 in the latest ITA release. Nina Khmelnitckaia is 12-4 on the year between courts three and four with a 6-0 mark in Big 12 play.

Khmelnitckaia and Rychagova are ranked 14 in doubles at 8-2 from the No. 1 line. The pair is riding a six-match winning streak. Vogasari and Tatiana Nikolaeva are 10-3 on court three.

In the last meeting between the teams, No. 41 OU upset No. 23 Kansas, 4-0, in Norman to claim the Sooners' first Big 12 victory of the 2017 season.
