NORMAN The No. 17 Oklahoma men's tennis team hits the road for a clash with No. 41 Cornell in the final non-conference match of the season.

The Sooners come into the contest at 14-2 on the season, following  back-to-back wins over UMKC, 4-0, and Fresno State, 4-3, at home.

In singles, No. 73 Alex Bakshi continues to lead OU from the No. 1 line and owns an 8-2 record. Six of Bakshi's singles wins have come in straight sets.

Ferran Calvo has compiled a record of 5-5 on courts one, two, three and four, and heads into Saturday's match ranked No. 62 in the latest ITA release.

Jake Van Emburgh checks in at No. 106, owning a record of 10-2 from the No. 3 and 4 lines. The freshman recorded OU's first singles shutout of the year against Fresno State to become the first Sooner to reach 10 wins this season. In doubles action, Calvo and Adrian Oetzbach are ranked 68th and have put together a record of 4-1 between courts one and two. The pair has won its last four matches consecutively.

The British duo of Max Stewart and James Davis remain undefeated with a 4-0 mark on courts two and three.

Scouting Cornell

The Big Red enters Saturday's matchup at 7-6 overall and ranked No. 41 in the ITA team rankings. In its last weekend of competition, Cornell routed Buffalo, 7-0, and took down William and Mary, 5-2, both at home.

In singles, David Volfson is 6-3 overall, with a 5-3 mark at the No. 1 line. Volfson is riding a five-match winning streak, with all of those victories coming in straight sets.

Alafia Ayeni is 7-4 on the year, with all of his wins on court two. Daniel Grunberger leads the Big Red in victories at 9-4 between courts three and four.

Jake Hansen and Lev Kazakov own a 3-7 mark at No. 1 doubles, while Volfson and Joseph McCallister lead Cornell in doubles wins with a record of 6-6 from the No. two and three lines.

Last Time They Met

The teams last met on March 12, 2017, when then-No. 21 Cornell handed the No. 7 Sooners their first home loss of the season in a 4-3 thriller. OU won the doubles point handily and picked up two singles wins before the Big Red fired back to tie the match at 3-3. The contest came down to court two, where Cornell's Kazakov defeated No. 101 Alex Ghilea after three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
