On Serve: Jochen Bertsch

Only in his sophomore season at OU, Jochen Bertsch is a veteran on the Sooners' squad. Bertsch is one of just a handful of returners, and the Mannheim, Germany, native has anchored the team at the No. 5 spot in dual play, where he has maintained a perfect, 9-0, record.

Bertsch has also seen great success in doubles play, most notably alongside fellow German Adrian Oetzbach – the pair entered the spring season ranked No. 43 in the ITA release after making a run to the ITA Regional Championship quarterfinal during fall tournament season.  Now in dual play, the duo clinched the key doubles point against then-No. 28 Kentucky in a thriller, winning 7-6 (9) on court three after the Sooners split with the Wildcats on the other two courts, and setting OU up to rout Kentucky, 6-1.
