NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team welcomes USF to the Headington Family Tennis Center Friday for the final contest of the Sooners' five-match homestand.
The Sooners come into Friday's matchup at 4-4 on the season. In its last week of competition, Oklahoma shut out North Texas, 7-0, and dominated Pacific, 6-1, to extend the Sooners' winning streak to three matches.
Senior Lily Miyazaki leads the Sooners from the No. 1 line, compiling a 4-2 record to go with a No. 26 ranking in the latest ITA release. Fellow upperclassman Malene Stripp is 4-1 on court six. Both Stripp and Miyazaki hold three-match winning streaks in singles.
In doubles, two OU pairs remain undefeated: Christie Brigante and Jasmine Asghar are 3-0 in the top spot, and Simran Sethi and Camila Romero are also 3-0 at No. 3.
USF enters the contest with a 2-5 overall record and a 1-0 mark in American Athletic Conference action. In their last match, the Bulls took down SMU, 4-3, on the road.
In singles play, Evelyne Tiron has compiled a 4-2 record on courts two, three and four with a 3-1 slate at No. 2. Nicole Dzenga is 3-2 on courts three, four and six.
Dzenga and Vanja Klaric are 3-4 in doubles play on courts one and two.
Friday's clash will be the first meeting between OU and USF. First serve is set for 5 p.m. Live stats and video will be available for the match.
