Sooners in Fifth After Two Rounds

Saturday's Round Canceled at NCAA Championships

May 20, 2017 | Women's Golf

NORMAN – Saturday's round at the 2017 NCAA Women's Golf Championships was canceled due to inclement weather. Play will resume at Rich Harvest Farms on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. CT.

Tee times for Sunday's round are the same as Saturday's original tee times. All teams and individuals will now advance to Monday's final round of stroke play, and the individual medalist will be determined at the conclusion of 54 holes of stroke play instead of the original 72.

“With the severe weather threats that we monitored throughout Saturday morning, our committee came to the determination that, given the conditions, canceling Saturday's round was needed to maintain the overall student-athlete experience and the integrity of the championships,” said NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee chair Jim Fee. “We're looking forward to the next two days of stroke play, where we have the opportunity to crown the individual champion, as well as determine the eight teams advancing to match play, which will begin Tuesday morning.”

After enduring tough conditions on Friday, Oklahoma's Julienne Soo completed the opening round in a share of 80th place at 82 (+10). The sophomore will tee off for Sunday's round at 1:25 p.m. CT.
