Sooners Complete Opening Round at Big 12s

NORMAN – The No. 20 University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished the opening round of the 2017 Big 12 Championships tied for seventh place. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at the par-72, 6,263-yard Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.
The Sooners logged a 301 (+13) in the round. TCU sits atop the leaderboard in first place at 293 (+5). No. 18 Oklahoma State currently is in second place at 294 (+6) followed by Kansas in third place at 296 (+8). No. 23 Texas and Iowa State both tied for fourth place at 297 (+9).
Rylee Pedigo led the way for the Sooners, firing a 73 (+1) in Friday's round. The junior played a strong back nine sinking two birdies on the day. Pedigo shares ninth place out of 45 competitors.
Junior Valerie Tanguay carded a 74 (+2) and is tied for 14th place. Tanguay recorded three birdies in the opening round.
Julienne Soo ended the day shooting a 75 (+3) and is tied for 21st place, and junior Ana Ruiz shot a 79 (+7) to finish the round tied for 37th place. Teammate Hannah Wood is tied for 41st place after recording an 80 (+8).
