NORMAN – There's just something about Oklahoma seniors performing well on their Senior Day.

After Paris Townsend did it against Maryland just over a month ago, Erin Miller was the hero Friday night as she became the second Sooner to record a game-winning hit on the day she was honored. Miller's walk-off, two-run homer was the difference as No. 12/9 Oklahoma swept a doubleheader against Texas, 5-3.

The Sooners have won eight straight overall and 15 of their past 16 to run their record to 33-7 on the season. In the Big 12, the Sooners are 8-1 and hold a 2.5 game lead over second-place Baylor, whom OU swept last weekend in Waco. Texas, meanwhile, is 27-12 on the season and trails Oklahoma by five games with a 2-5 mark in league play.

With the doubleheader sweep, Oklahoma has won six straight over Texas dating back to the 2014 season. That matches the longest winning streak ever for OU against the Longhorns, previously done during the 2000-01 seasons.

In addition, with the Sooners clinching the season series they're now 5-0-1 in the past six series with Texas. OU hasn't lost a regular season series to Texas since 2009 (2010 was cancelled because of rain) and hasn't lost a home series to UT since 2006.

Miller was the offensive spark for Oklahoma Friday as she finished 2-3 with two runs scored and three runs batted in. Her hitting streak is at a season-best eight games, two off her career high from Feb. 6-19 last season.

In the circle, senior Kelsey Stevens and freshman Jayden Chestnut combined on the win.

Stevens started and got through 4.1 innings, her longest start since March 18 against DePaul when she lasted 4.2 innings. She gave up three runs on four hits with four strikeouts and one walk.

Chestnut came on in relief in the fifth and gave up a two-run single that briefly put Texas ahead, but after that she retired the final seven batters she faced. She earned the win to move to 6-0 on the season as she threw 2.2 scoreless innings with no walks, no strikeouts and one hit allowed.

After two scoreless innings, Texas got on the board in the third as Lindsey Stephens hit an RBI single to center field, but OU quickly grabbed the lead in the bottom of the inning thanks to a Longhorn error.

With two out, sophomore Kelsey Arnold hit a ball to third but Celina Felix's throw to first base was wide, keeping the inning alive. Miller and freshman Sydney Romero each walked, filling the bases. Freshman Shay Knighten, who hit the go-ahead home run in the first game of the doubleheader, came through again when she delivered a two-run single to right field.

Stephens put Texas back on top in the fifth when she rocketed a two-run single off OU second baseman Caleigh Clifton, but once again, OU had an answer in the bottom of the frame.

Sophomore Lea Wodach walked to lead off the inning and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Arnold. Junior Macey Hatfield came on as a pinch runner for Wodach, and she scored the tying run when Miller pulled a double down the right field line.

With Chestnut keeping the Texas bats in-check, OU recorded its ninth walk-off win in the seventh.

Wodach hit a one-out single to start the rally. Two batters later, Miller stepped in. She fell behind in the count 0-2 before working it back into a full count. Then, on a 3-2 offering, she turned on the pitch and just kept it inside the foul pole in right field. It was her eighth home run of the season.

It was also the fifth career walk-off homer for Miller, but just the second that didn't end in a run-rule. In fact, that other home run landed in nearly the same spot during the 2015 NCAA Regionals against Texas A&M.

OU goes for the series sweep Saturday at 2 p.m. The game will be shown to a national audience on ESPN2.
