NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma women's tennis is back in Norman for a pair of matches against the Iowa State Cyclones and West Virginia Mountaineers. The match with Iowa State is set for Friday at 5 p.m., while the West Virginia match will be played Sunday at noon.
The Sooners (5-7) faced both teams on the road last season, beating the Cyclones, 4-2, and the Mountaineers, 4-0. In head coach David Mullins' tenure, OU is undefeated against both teams.
Iowa State is 11-2 on the year with nine of its wins coming on the road. The Cyclones' loss at home was a 4-3 decision against UTEP, while the road loss came against Minnesota.
Oklahoma has faced Iowa State 40 times, with their first meeting coming in 1981. The Sooners are 39-1 all-time against the Cyclones.
West Virginia is 6-5 this season and is on a two-match losing streak. The Moutaineers will face Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., Saturday to begin their conference slate. Oklahoma did not face West Virginia prior to their addition to the Big 12 Conference in 2012-2013. OU is 3-0 against the Mountaineers. All three victories have been shutouts.
