NORMAN, Okla. – No. 37 Oklahoma hosts Stephen F. Austin Saturday at noon at the Heading Family Tennis Center.

The Sooners are coming off a bye week after sweeping road matches No. 51 Utah and No. 59 UC-Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, Calif. Jan. 22-23. Head coach David Mullins says the rest was good for the team.

"It was definitely beneficial to have a bye week after our travel and long matches out in California. It has given us time to work on a few areas while also balancing some rest, recovery and getting ahead in our studies,” Mulllins said.

Oklahoma has never faced Stephen F. Austin in a dual match. The unranked Jacks are 5-0 in 2016. In its last match, SFA defeated Tyler (Texas) Junior College, 4-2. OU is 2-1 overall, with sophomore Lily Miyazaki leading the team at 3-0 at the No. 1 singles spot.

Mullins said the team has been working on their doubles play, as well as overall execution.

"I am hopeful we can build upon our doubles performances. Last time out, I was definitely happier with how we played, we just did not execute at a high enough level. We need to continue to play the same way, and just tighten up some areas especially on returns and around the net," he said.
