Miyazaki's Run Ends at ITA All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – University of Oklahoma women's tennis player Lily Miyazaki's run at 2016 Rivera/ITA All-American came to an end on Friday.
After making it through the qualifying round, No. 72 Miyazaki defeated Ole Miss' No. 17 Arianne Hartono, 6-4, 6-0, on Thursday, in opening round action.
In the Round of 16, Miyazaki battled tough but eventually fell, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, to No. 3 seed Francesca Di Lorenzo of Ohio State. Di Lorenzo would advance all the way to the final and win the tournament crown.
Miyazaki finished the tournament with a 4-1 record, beating three ranked opponents. She has defeated five ranked players so far during the fall season.
OU women's tennis is back in action Oct. 13 in Minneapolis, Minn., at the ITA Central Regional tournament.
