NORMAN – The second-ranked Oklahoma men's tennis team announced Wednesday that three of its home matches during the 2016 season will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Oklahoma and Fox College Sports Central. The match can also be streamed using the Fox Sports Go app, available in your app market.

"We are excited about the opportunity to have three matches televised live," Oklahoma head coach John Roddick said. "It just makes for a great event. When we play these matches here and there is TV it feels more important. Our guys work hard to play a high level of tennis and hopefully the viewers like what they see."

The Sooners' first televised will be this weekend as they host No. 11 Wake Forest on Sunday, Jan. 31 at noon CT. Chad McKee and former Sooner head coach Paul Lockwood will be on the call as Oklahoma looks to remain unbeaten on the year. The Sooners took down the Demon Deacons 5-2 last year in Winston-Salem, N.C. The match will feature some of the nation's top players as the Wake Forest roster features three singles players and three doubles duos in the rankings.

"The Wake match is going to be one of the most high profile matches early in the season," Roddick said. "We are excited about the match and being live on TV. We are one of the only programs in the country that is regularly on television. From that stand point we are proud as an athletic department of what we have been able to do. Hopefully that translates into recruiting and a higher level of tennis for us."

Oklahoma will be back on the air as it plays host to current No. 9 Ohio State on Sunday, March 6. The match, which is slated for a noon CT start, will be a rematch of one of the Sooners' best matches from a year ago. In 2015, OU traveled Columbus, Ohio and snapped then eighth-ranked Ohio State's NCAA all-sport record 200-match home winning streak in a dramatic match that came down to the last court.

Fans will also have a chance to see great competition in conference play. In what could be one of the best matches in collegiate tennis, No. 2 OU squares off with current No. 5 Baylor on Friday, April 15 at 6 p.m. CT. In 2015 OU went 4-0 against the Bears, including a 2-0 mark in Waco. The Sooners bested Baylor in the ITA National Indoor Championships, at the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Challenge present by Oracle, during the regular season and in the Big 12 Championships final.
