NORMAN ? University of Oklahoma head women's golf coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell has announced the addition of former OU men's golfer Ryan Sirman to her coaching staff as assistant coach.
“I'm very excited about Ryan joining our program,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “He is very knowledgeable about the game of golf and was a great player. We have a close-knit atmosphere here at OU, and we are very excited to have Ryan return to our Sooner family. I know he will be a great asset to our program and can't wait for him to get started.”
Sirman returns to OU after serving as an instructor at the Matt Swanson School of Golf in Houston, Texas, for the past year and a half. The Tyler, Texas, native played at Oklahoma from 2007 to 2011 and had a decorated career. He served as OU's team captain his senior season and was named to the 2011 Golf Coaches Association of America All-Region Team after recording a top-20 finish at the NCAA Championships.
After his playing career, Sirman served as a graduate assistant for both the OU men's and women's golf programs, earning a master's degree in higher education with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics administration. He also received his bachelor's degree in business administration from OU.
I played golf here and I was a graduate assistant here. So I consider Norman home. I'm really excited to be coming back.

“I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity,” Sirman said. “I know the phrase ?This is a dream come true' is used often, but this is literally a dream come true for me, especially for my first coaching job. I played golf here and I was a graduate assistant here. So I consider Norman home. I'm really excited to be coming back.
“Being around Coach Drouin-Luttrell for two years, I know how she operates and I know the culture that she wants to sustain here at the University of Oklahoma. I feel like I'm going to be able to pick that up pretty quickly and get the ball rolling. Being around Norman already makes me feel comfortable. The university and the town and the people make me really excited to be back.”
Sirman takes over at OU for Matt Luther, who is pursuing other coaching opportunities after a two-year stint in Norman.?
