Round-Two Results

NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma women's golf team carded a 308 (+20) in Saturday's second round of the LSU Tiger Golf Classic and shares 12th place. The 15-team tournament is being played at the par-72, 6,251-yard University Club in Baton Rouge, La.

The Sooners, who logged a 315 (+27) in the first round, sit at 623 (+47) heading into the final day. No. 7-ranked and tournament-host LSU leads the event at 577 (+1). Tulane is in second place at 14-over and No. 12 Mississippi State is at +15 and in third place.

Hannah Wood's 147 (+3) leads OU in the event. The freshman, who is tied for 12th place, recorded a 75 (+3) in Saturday's round.

Fellow freshmen Valerie Tanguay and Ana Ruiz also each fired a 75 (+3) in Saturday's round. Tanguay is tied for 38th place at 155 (+11) and Ruiz shares 50th place with a 157 (+13).

OU sophomore Alexandra Kaui registered a second-round 83 (+11) and is tied for 78th place at 164 (+20), and sophomore Maggie Neece is in 88th place at 177 (+33).

Although the squad moved down in the leaderboard, sixth-year OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said she was happy to see the team's overall score improve.

“As a team we played better,” Drouin-Luttrell said. “We need to stay patient on the greens. It's a challenging course and it's important to play one shot at a time.”
