NO. 1

For the fourth week in a row and the sixth time in program history Oklahoma sits atop the national rankings. The ITA ranks OU No. 1 with 87.77 points, more than eight points greater than the second place Baylor Bears. The gap between Oklahoma and second place is more than the gap between second and sixth places.

The Sooners' current streak is the only time in program history the team has been No. 1 in consecutive weeks. The team occupied the top spot for a single week immediately following its title at the indoor championships in February and in 2014 after topping Ohio State at home.

TOP-25 DOMINANCE

The Sooners have been able to distance themselves in the rankings by virtue of dominant play. Despite playing perhaps the toughest schedule in the nation, John Roddick's Sooners enter conference play with just a single loss. OU boasts 11 wins over teams ranked in the ITA top-20 including two wins over both No. 2 Baylor and No. 15 North Carolina.

Oklahoma has won its last seven matches, all but one of which came over teams ranked in the ITA top-30. The Sooners are fresh claiming another tournament title last weekend. OU took home the title at the BNP Paribas Open Collegiate Challenge presented by Oracle with wins over Purdue, Columbia and Baylor.

STEADY AS HE GOES

Axel Alvarez has been one reason for Oklahoma's incredible play. The junior from Spain sits at No. 2 in the ITA's latest singles ranks and leads the Sooners with 15 wins in dual play, 12 of which have come at No. 2 singles. Alvarez has yet to drop a match in dual play and has won 14 of his matches in straight sets. Alvarez has lost just one set in dual play, and has nine wins over ranked opponents.

SOONERS IN THE RANKS

Three other Sooners join Alvarez in the ITA's singles rankings. Sophomore Andrew Harris comes is at No. 13, senior Dane Webb comes in at No. 23 and sophomore Alex Ghilea rounds out the list at No. 65. The Sooners' top doubles tandem of Alvarez and Webb hold steady at No. 6 while Harris and Ghilea fell from the ranks this week.

SCOUTING REPORT: No. 10 TCU

The Horned Frogs are 14-5 this season and have won their last five matches. All five of TCU's losses have come against teams ranked in the top-25. The Horned Frogs beat No. 9 Texas A&M 4-2 in their opening match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend back in January. The Aggies are the only team to beat the Sooners this season.

Ranked Horned Frogs:

No. 37 Cameron Norrie – 8-6 splitting time at No. 1 and No. 2 singles
No. 76 Guillermo Nunez – 14-0 in dual play, has multiple wins at spots 2-6.

No. 19 Nick Chappell/Will Stein – 7-6 at No. 1 doubles
No. 61 Trevor Johnson/Blake Wiggins – 6-0 overall, but have not started a match in dual play

SCOUTING REPORT: No. 7 TEXAS

The Longhorns are 14-2 this season, having won 7 of their last eight matches. Texas's two losses came against No. 3 Illinois and No. 11 Ohio State. The Longhorns will face No. 22 Oklahoma State on Friday before heading to Norman.
