Milstead Falls at Bulldog Scramble

ATHENS, Ga. – Oklahoma men's tennis player John Milstead carried the torch for the Sooners on the second day of play at the 2015 Bulldog Scramble in Athens, Ga.

Milstead was the lone Sooner in action on Saturday as teammate Austin Siegel sat out with an injury. The redshirt freshman dropped his lone singles match with Casey Kay of Georgia Tech 6-2, 6-2.

“John needs to understand that he has to serve bigger,” head coach John Roddick said. “He is working hard on it, but I want him to take chances on his serve. He will get another good opportunity tomorrow.”

Roddick is hopeful that Siegel, despite missing Saturday's action, can return to the court for the final day of play on Sunday.

“Austin caught his arm on the fence yesterday during singles and was unable to play today,” Roddick said. “Hopefully it feels a little bit better tomorrow.”
