NAPA, Calif. – Oklahoma men's tennis players Andrew Harris and Dane Webb both took part in the Napa Valley Challenger this week at the Napa Valley Country Club in Napa, Calif.
The USTA Pro Circuit event features some of the best players from around the world including some of the country's best collegiate players.
Just a sophomore, Harris won his first match in qualifying against Erik Elliott 6-2, 6-0 before later falling to Alexios Halebian 5-7, 4-6.
Webb, a senior, also won his first qualifying match, a 7-5, 6-3 effort over Adam Hubble. Webb dropped his second match 5-7, 2-6 to Daniel Nguyen.
The Sooners next turn their attention to Tulsa, Okla. for perhaps the biggest event of the fall schedule, the ITA All-American Championships. The week-long event will take place at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center and will feature the nation's top ranked collegiate players from schools around the country.
