Get to Know Senior Emily Collins
March 26, 2014 | Women's Golf
NORMAN, Okla. -- The spring season is in full force and the University of Oklahoma women's golf team is 10th nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. The squad has already established multiple school records this year, setting the standard for low team round (a 12-under 276 at the Alamo Invitational in October) and for 54-hole score (a 24-under 848 at the same event).
Emily Collins is part of a four-member senior class that has helped rewrite the OU records book. Collins, from Colleyville, Texas, ranks sixth in school history with her 75.60 career stroke average. She holds OU's third-best 18-hole score in relation to par (-5), and her 137 (-7) in the first two rounds of the 2013 NCAA Central Regional represent the best 36-hole score in program history. Her Sooner teams have placed sixth and ninth, respectively, the last two years at the NCAA Championships.
SoonerSports.com recently caught up with Collins to find out about her life off the golf course.
