Sooners Head to Tuscaloosa for ITA Kick-Off

NORMAN, Okla. -- The 34th-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team (1-0) plays its first road match of the season Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. as part of the 2014 ITA Kick-Off Weekend. OU will face Ole Miss at 2 p.m. at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Indoor Tennis Facility.

The 2014 ITA Kick-Off Weekend is held at 15 different campuses across the country. The winner from each host site will advance to the 2014 ITA Division I National Women's Team Indoor Championship, hosted by the University of Virginia Feb. 7-10.

Featured in the Alabama competition of Kick-Off Weekend are 12th ranked Alabama (0-0), No. 35 Ole Miss (1-0) and No. 40 William and Mary (2-2).

Oklahoma is the No. 2 seed in the Alabama bracket. The Sooners will play either top-seeded Alabama or No. 4 seed William & Mary on Sunday in the consolation or qualifying match based on Saturday's results.

The Sooners enter the tournament after defeating No. 60 North Texas, 7-0, Sunday Jan. 19.
