NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma women's tennis team heads to Big Ten country for two road matches this weekend. OU faces Iowa Friday, Feb. 22, at 3 p.m., in Iowa City, Iowa, and No. 34 Illinois Sunday, Feb. 24, at 12 p.m. in Champaign, Ill.

“I am glad we have a quick turnaround this weekend.” OU head coach David Mullins said. “We are eager to build upon our great performances this past Saturday and Sunday.

Oklahoma (5-2) is on the road for the first time since its Jan. 26, 5-2, victory against Hawaii in Miami for ITA Kickoff Weekend.

The Sooners jumped five spots in the ITA rankings to No. 36 after upsetting No. 28 Tulsa and No. 37 Arkansas in Norman last week.

“I am interested to see if we can have the same competitive edge on the road and repeat the same level in unfamiliar territory.” Mullins added. “I know if we can maintain our current mindset that we will be very hard to beat.”

Iowa (4-2) posted two shutout victories last Saturday, Feb. 16, with wins over Drake and Western Illinois.

Illinois (4-4) hosts Syracuse Friday, Feb. 22, before its matchup against Oklahoma. The Sooners are 4-0 in the all-time series with Illinois.
