Ritchie Ranked in Preseason List

Oklahoma's Whitney Ritchie landed a spot in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's singles preseason rankings. Ranked 60th, she is one of 10 Big 12 women to make the list.

Ritchie finished the 2012 season ranked 90th in the ITA singles.

Last season she had the team's best singles and doubles records. She also won the 2011 USTA/ITA Central Region Doubles Championship with partner Marie-Pier Huet. She and Huet also appeared in the NCAA Doubles Championships.

Seven conference teams are represented in the women's singles rankings with Ritchie ranked third among the league's singles players.

Ritchie and the Sooners start the fall season Sept. 21-22 at the University of Texas Invitational and the Little Rock Classic.
