Junior Whitney Ritchie, seeded third, will advance to the round of 16. Ritchie defeated South Dakota State's Jenny Blackburne, 6-2, 6-1 before defeating Kansas' Belen Luduena, 6-2, 7-6 (5). Ritchie will compete against Missouri's Cierra Gaytan-Leach Saturday Oct. 19.
