NORMAN, Okla. -The 24th-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team makes its second straight NCAA tournament appearance as the Sooners take on No. 38 Cal Poly in the first round of the 2011 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships on Saturday, May 14 at 9 a.m., in Waco, Texas.

The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the second round to play the winner of No. 7 Baylor vs. Texas-Arlington on Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m.

Baylor was chosen as one of 16 host sites for the first and second rounds after receiving one of the 16 No. 1 seeds in the tournament.

The winner of each host site will advance to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen at the 2011 NCAA Championships in Stanford, Calif., May 20-24.

Oklahoma (18-6, 9-2 Big 12) finished the season in the top 25 for the first time since 2004 to secure a spot in the NCAA tournament. OU makes its back-to-back NCAA appearance in just its seventh overall trip to the postseason tournament.

The Sooners open NCAAs following another record-setting season. OU tied its program-best Big 12 record after finishing conference play at 9-2 to receive a program-high No. 3 seed in the tournament.

Oklahoma advanced to the Big 12 tournament semifinals for just the fourth time in history. OU won four position conference championships and had three All-Big 12 selections.

OU defeated 12 nationally-ranked opponents while all six of its losses were to top 25 teams.

The Sooners won the doubles point in 19 of their 24 matches this season. All three doubles pairs finished in the top three in the Big 12, while two won their position championships.

Ana-Maria Constantinescu was named All-Big 12 in both singles and doubles with partner Alice Radu. The duo, currently ranked No. 48 nationally, won the 2011 Big 12 position championship at No. 1 doubles after finishing the season with a 13-10 overall record and 7-3 conference record.

Freshman duo, Mia Lancaster and Whitney Ritchie, won OU's second doubles position conference championship after going undefeated in Big 12 play at the No. 2 doubles spot. Lancaster and Ritchie finished the season with an overall record of 13-2 and 11-0 in Big 12 action.

OU also claimed two Big 12 position championships in singles. Senior Maria Kalashnikova won the No. 6 singles title with her 10-1 conference record, while Junior Marie-Pier Huet won the No. 4 singles title with a 9-2 Big 12 record.

Lancaster and Ritchie both recorded top five finishes in singles in the Big 12. Lancaster finished in second at the No. 5 spot, while Ritchie finished fifth at the No. 3 spot.
