IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma's Ana-Maria Constantinescu and Alice Radu were named to the 2011 All-Big 12 team, announced by the conference Wednesday.

Constantinescu and Radu earned a spot on the All-Big 12 doubles team while Constantinescu was also named to the singles team.

“Ana and Alice have had an outstanding year playing the No. 1 position not just in the Big 12 but nationally as well,” OU Head Coach David Mullins said. “It is a wonderful achievement for Alice in her freshman year.”

Constantinescu earned the All-Big 12 singles honor for the fourth straight year and made both the singles and doubles teams for the second consecutive season.

“I am very happy for Ana that she received this wonderful recognition yet again,” Mullins added. “She has been such a dominant player in the Big 12 these last four years and this is a great way to end her college career.”

Constantinescu and Radu won a share of the 2011 Big 12 No. 1 doubles position championship.  The duo currently holds a 13-10 overall record and 7-3 conference record.

OU's No. 1 doubles pair is currently ranked 48th in the country and is an alternate for the NCAA tournament in doubles.

Constantinescu has led the team at the No. 1 singles position all season.  The senior was consistently ranked in the ITA top 125 in singles this season, with her highest ranking coming at No. 69.

Constantinescu finished her Big 12 career with a 26-11 conference record with multiple conference honors.  In addition to her six All-Big 12 honors, the Bucharest, Romania-native was named the 2009 Big 12 Player of the Year and won the No. 1 singles position championship in the same season.

Constantinescu not only went undefeated in conference play in 2009 but became the first player in conference history to not lose a set in league play.

Constantinescu, Radu and the rest of the Sooners open the 2011 NCAA First and Second Rounds on Saturday, May 14 as they take on No. 38 Cal Poly in the first round at 9 a.m. The winner will advance to the second round and will play the winner of No. 7 Baylor vs. Texas-Arlington on Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m.
