NORMAN, Okla. - The 29th-ranked Oklahoma men's tennis hits the road this weekend to take on No. 42 Arizona on Friday, March11, and San Diego State on Sunday, March 13.
“We're excited to be going out to Arizona and San Diego State,” John Roddick said. “We will start our outdoor schedule now after playing all of our matches indoors. We have been practicing outside quite a bit but it's going to be a new challenge and one that will be beneficial to our team especially the way we play.”
Oklahoma (6-2) is coming off a 6-1 victory over then-No. 60 Northwestern and is riding a four-match winning streak heading to the west coast.
Arizona (8-5) has won two straight after defeating Sacramento State and New Mexico State. The Wildcats are 7-1 at home this season.
OU's opponent on Sunday, San Diego State, is on a seven-match losing streak and most recently fell to Rice, 5-2.
“It's going to be a good match against a good Pac 10 team that beat UCLA last year. We played them last year as well and it was a tough match at the Blue-Gray. Then we will be going on to San Diego State who we played twice last year too. Both are traditionally good teams and we're excited about the opportunity to be going to those places.”
