NORMAN, Okla. – The 22nd-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team hosts its third match against a nationally-ranked opponent in less than a week as the Sooners face No. 21 Tulsa on Wednesday, March 30 at 2 p.m., at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
Oklahoma (12-3, 4-1 Big 12) dropped its first Big 12 match of the season on Sunday to No. 9 Baylor, 5-2 after defeating No. 49 Texas Tech two days prior, 6-1.
The Sooners three losses were all against top 20 opponents, including a road loss to No. 1 Stanford the defending national champion. OU has eight wins over nationally-ranked opponents this year with four coming against top 40 teams.
Leading the way for Oklahoma is senior Ana-Maria Constantinescu. Constantinescu is nationally ranked in both singles (No. 102) and doubles (No. 66 with partner Alice Radu) and has played at the No. 1 position in both.
Radu is part of OU's stellar freshmen class along with Mia Lancaster and Whitney Ritchie.
Lancaster and Ritchie lead the team in overall record in both singles and doubles. The pair made their collegiate debut as a duo against Ohio State on Feb. 27 and has won seven-straight matches to stay unbeaten in doubles play.
Lancaster and Ritchie, both from Bishop McGuinness High School in Oklahoma City, also hold the top two records in singles at 12-2 and 10-3 respectively.
Tulsa (17-2, 2-0 C-USA) currently holds a 12-match win streak, including wins over Texas Tech, Nebraska and Kansas State.
The Golden Hurricane's two losses were to Texas A&M and Arkansas.
The match will begin with doubles play at 2, followed immediately by singles.
