TULSA, Okla. – Guillermo Alcorta and Peerakit Siributwong advanced to the second round of singles qualifying action at the ITA All-American Championships Monday, hosted by the University of Tulsa.
Alcorta, the No. 7 newcomer nationally, defeated Radford's Stijn Muelemans in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Siributwong, the reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year, downed Drake's James McKie, 7-6, 7-5.
Junior Lawrence Formentera and freshman Dane Webb fell to Baylor's Mate Zsiga and Texas A&M's Junior Ore, respectively.
Doubles qualifying actions begins Tuesday. Costin Paval and Webb face South Alabama's Romain Bocaert and Cody Hall in first round action, while OU's other doubles teams have byes.
