Sooners Fall to Virginia

Beleleu and Mihov Advance at UVa Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Oklahoma senior Ionut Beleleu and freshman Tsvetan Mihov advanced in the opening round of the UVa Ranked Plus One Invitational Friday, at the Snyder Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Virginia.  

Beleleu, ranked No. 33 nationally, triumphed over Virginia's Reese Milner despite the fact he dropped the first set 7-5. The Romanian native rallied to take the following two sets 6-2, 6-3.

OU newcomer Mihov advanced after upsetting East Tennessee State's 97th-ranked Sander Gille, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6.

Next up, Beleleu will face Cornell's Andy Gauthier Saturday at 11:30, while Mihov takes on North Carolina's 30th-ranked Jose Hernandez at 12:30.
