NORMAN, Okla.—The 37th-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team closes out its regular season this weekend, hosting No. 40 Nebraska on Friday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m., and Iowa State on Sunday, April 25 at 4 p.m., at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Oklahoma (16-4, 6-3 Big 12) enters the weekend following a three-match win streak and hopes to secure a first round bye in the Big 12 Championships with wins over the Huskers and the Cyclones. Last week, the Sooners defeated No. 59 Oklahoma State, 4-3, Kansas State, 6-1, and Kansas, 5-2.

The Sooners are off to one of their best seasons in school history. This season marks only the sixth time in program history that an OU squad has gone 16-4 or better. OU has beaten five nationally-ranked opponents, has shut out its opponent in five matches, and is 10-2 at home.

In doubles, OU is led by 28th-ranked Ana-Maria Constantinescu and Teona Tsertsvadze at the No. 1 spot, while OU's current No. 2 and No. 3 pairs are 11-2 and 11-1 respectively. The Sooners have won the doubles point in 14 of 20 (.700) matches and have won a combined 39 of 59 doubles matches (.661).

Constantinescu also tops the Sooners' singles lineup at the No. 1 position and is ranked No. 103 nationally. All six players on OU's lineup boast winning records of .611 or higher. The Sooners have won a combined 77 of 119 (.647) singles matches and have won 64 of those 77 (.831) in straight-sets.

Nebraska (18-4, 7-2 Big 12) enters Friday's match after an upset over then-ranked No. 34 Texas A&M, 5-2. Before the win, the Huskers lost 6-1 in back-to-back matches against No. 2 Baylor and No. 20 Texas. Nebraska is led by Mary Weatherholt, ranked No. 80 nationally in singles. OU leads the series history with Nebraska, 22-11, despite losing the last three meetings.

Iowa State (9-12, 2-7 Big 12) is coming off six-straight losses in conference play. The Cyclones have played nationally-ranked opponents in four of their last six matches and will face No. 57 Oklahoma State on Friday before making the trip to Norman. The Sooners lead the series history with the Cyclones, 33-1. The only time ISU has topped OU was on March 6, 2005.
