NORMAN, Okla.—The 36th-ranked Oklahoma women's tennis team faces its third ranked opponent of the season Sunday, as the Sooners take on 76th-ranked College of Charleston on the road.
Oklahoma (8-1, 0-0 Big 12) is coming off a weeklong break following a 6-1 win over Wichita State on March 5. The Sooners 8-1 start is tied for the second-best start after nine matches in program history.
The Sooners have are 2-1 against nationally-ranked opponents in 2010. OU upset then-No. 30 Alabama on Feb. 6 and then-No. 32 Tulsa on Feb. 17. OU's only loss came to then-No. 20 Arkansas on the road.
College of Charleston (8-5, 3-0 SoCon) will play two other matches before facing Oklahoma on Sunday. The Cougars are coming off a 5-2 loss to No. 61 Wake Forest. Prior to the loss, College of Charleston won four-straight matches including three shutout wins. a
