SOONERS EARN BIG 12 AWARDS

Fifteen Oklahoma players were recognized on the 2010 All-Big 12 Football Team announced Tuesday. The team is selected by the league's coaches. Defensive end Jeremy Beal, who leads the Big 12 in tackles for loss and is second in sacks, was named the Defensive Lineman of the Year, while freshmen defensive back Tony Jefferson was named Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year.

Oklahoma (10-2) released its updated depth chart and game notes for Saturday night's Big 12 Championship matchup with Nebraska.

Oklahoma has double digit victories for the 32nd time in its football history (10-2). That figure ranks No. 1 nationally.
 
Oklahoma has advanced to the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship for the eighth time. The Sooners lead the league in both appearances and championships (six).
 
Oklahoma and Nebraska have met only once in the Big 12 title game and the Sooners won, 21-7, in 2006 at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium.
 
In last Saturday's win at Oklahoma State, Oklahoma ran a school record 107 plays. The Sooners converted a whopping 16-of-27 on third down.
 
Oklahoma is trying to sweep its three rivals - Texas, Nebraska and Oklahoma State - in the same season for the 21st time.

Oklahoma safety Quinton Carter has been named to the 2010 American Football Coaches Association All-America Team. He becomes the 151st All-American in OU's 116 years of football competition and the 31st of Bob Stoops' tenure as head coach. Oklahoma has had the most players all-time named to the AFCA Coaches' All-America Team. The Sooners have been represented 61 times by 52 players on the AFCA team.

For the eighth time in the last 11 years, Oklahoma will represent the Big 12 South in the conference title game. The Sooners finished in a three-way tie with OSU and Texas A&M atop the South Division. Per conference rules, the team ranked highest in the BCS standings represents the division in the title game. Oklahoma was ranked No. 9 (.6780) in the latest BCS standings while Oklahoma State was No. 14 and Texas A&M was No. 18.
 
No other Big 12 team has played in more Big 12 Championships as the Sooners (8 - 2010, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2000). No other team has as many Big 12 crowns as Oklahoma (6 - 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004, 2002, 2000). The Sooners will play Nebraska on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. CT at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will be televised nationally by ABC. Oklahoma has sold its allotment of 10,000 tickets.

COACH STOOPS ON BIG 12 TITLE GAME
"It seems fitting that Oklahoma and Nebraska would meet in this game. This has been a great rivalry for a long, long time and college football fans around the country will appreciate this game in particular. I want to congratulate Coach Pelini and Nebraska on their great season and for winning the Big 12 North.

OU SELLS OUT BIG 12 ALLOTMENT
The OU Athletics Ticket Office announced it has sold out its allotment of general public tickets for the Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship, Dec. 4 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Prepaid parking is available online at Ticketmaster.com. For further questions, please contact the OU Athletics Ticket Office by calling (405) 325-2424 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday, Nov. 29 through Friday, Dec. 3.
 
RANKINGS
Oklahoma secured its 32nd season with at least 10 wins (the most in the nation) with its Bedlam victory against the Cowboys in Stillwater. OU moved up to No. 9 in both the Coaches and Harris polls (used by the BCS) and No. 10 in the latest AP Poll. The BCS standings will be released at 7:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.

A limited number of tickets for the final Big 12 Championship game are available now for purchase online. Tickets are $88 per ticket with a limit of four (4) tickets per customer. The game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 4 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
 
If tickets remain, phone sales will be available from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28 through the OU Athletics Ticket Office by calling (405) 325-2424. Purchased tickets will be express mailed. Ticket availability and corresponding charges are dependant on the OU football team's participation in the Big 12 Championship.
 
SOONERS PREVAIL IN BEDLAM
Landry Jones matched the school record with 468 yards passing and threw two long touchdown passes in a wild finish to the Bedlam game as No. 13 Oklahoma beat No. 9 Oklahoma State 47-41 on Saturday night to forge a three-way tie atop the Big 12 South.

The nation's top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners traveled to Stillwater to play in the 95th edition of the Bedlam Series on November 25, 2000. All the signs pointed to an easy Sooner win. OU was destined for the Big 12 Championship game the following week and OSU was struggling in a three-win season. Despite that, the Sooners were pushed to the limit until forging a 12-7 win and victory No. 700.

The Associated Press released its all-time All-Big 12 team on Wednesday evening. Oklahoma led all schools with seven players honored including offensive tackle Jammal Brown, running back Adrian Peterson, defensive tackle Tommie Harris, linebackers Rocky Calmus and Teddy Lehman and defensive backs Roy Williams and Derrick Strait. OU head coach Bob Stoops was selected the all-time Big 12 coach commanding 18 of the 20 votes.

OU offensive lineman Brian Lepak has been named to the 49-member ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Football Team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Lepak, who carries a 3.86 grade point average in Finance, has played in 10 games this season at both guard and center.  He drew starting assignments against Air Force and Cincinnati.

Oklahoma's Ryan Broyles has been named one of three finalists for the 2010 Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the top receiver in college football. Broyles, who already owns nearly every OU career receiving record, leads the nation in receptions per game (9.6) and ranks No. 3 in yards per game (119.0) in 2010.

SCOUTING THE COWBOYS
The Big 12 South title is on the line as Oklahoma takes on Oklahoma State Saturday night in Stillwater. A win for the Cowboys puts them in the Big 12 Championship for the first time, while an OU victory would likely make it eight in the last 11 years for the Sooners.

HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE UPDATE
With a record 160 volunteers working the event, Josh Heupel's 14 Foundation raised $34,500 for its annual Holiday Food Drive. The organization accepted cash donations prior to the OU-Texas Tech football game on Nov. 13. The funds will be used to assist families in Ada, Ardmore, Enid, Kingfisher, Lawton, Norman, Oklahoma City, Stillwater and Sand Springs. It is estimated that approximately 45,000 meals will be generated by the project.

With its final home game already in the books, OU begins a stretch of two Big 12 road games when it visits Baylor. The Sooners romped past Texas Tech in Norman last week, 45-7, while the Bears dropped a 42-30 home decision to Texas A&M. The game in Waco will kick shortly after 7 p.m. CT and will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The game will also be webcast live on ESPN3.

The Big 12 Conference announced that Oklahoma's game against OSU in Stillwater on Saturday, Nov. 27, will kick at 7 p.m. ABC will televise the game regionally. Saturday's game at Baylor is also slated for 7 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE
Due to unclaimed student tickets, the OU Athletics Ticket Office currently has a limited number of seats available for the Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech game available for public sale. Tickets for this game are $87 each and are available online. Tickets purchased can be printed at home or will be available at will call beginning at 9:30 a.m. on game day. Tickets are also available by phone through the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (405) 325-2424.

On October 2, 1976, the two-time defending National Champions and No. 3 ranked Oklahoma Sooners opened Big Eight play in Ames, Iowa, in front of a record crowd and the first undefeated Iowa State football team the Sooners had faced since 1961. Oklahoma released its updated depth chart and game notes for Saturday's game at Owen Field with the Texas Tech Red Raiders (2:30 p.m., ABC). OU will be defending the nation's longest home win streak (35 games) in its final home game of the 2010 season.

BROYLES SEMIFINALIST FOR MAXWELL
Oklahoma junior receiver Ryan Broyles was named today as one of 16 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award. Handed out annually since 1937 to the nation's top college football player, the Maxwell Award has become one of the most prestigious honors in the game. The semifinalists include 12 quarterbacks, two running backs and two wide receivers. The field will be reduced to three finalists on Nov. 22, and the award will be presented Dec. 9. OU has two former Maxwell Award winners (Jason White in 2004 and Tommy McDonald in 1956).
 
OU-BAYLOR AT 7 PM
The OU at Baylor football game on Nov. 20 has been selected for a 7 p.m., kickoff and it will be televised. The determination of which network will carry the game will be made Sunday, but Big 12 Officials have indicated that it will be either ABC or ESPN2. This week's game against Texas Tech in Norman kicks off at 2:30 p.m., and will be televised by ABC on a regional basis.

SCOUTING TEXAS TECH
Texas Tech is 5-4 in its first season under new head coach Tommy Tuberville and is coming off a big win over Missouri. The Red Raiders continue to boast one of the nation's top aerial attacks, ranking No. 8 in passing offense behind senior QB Taylor Potts.

THANKSGIVING COLLECTION
Josh Heupel's 14 Foundation will hold its 10th Annual Thanksgiving Collection at this Saturday's Oklahoma-Texas Tech football game. Fans may make cash donations to the drive outside the stadium gates prior to the 2:30 p.m., kickoff. Proceeds from the this drive benefit families in Ada, Ardmore, Enid, Kingfisher, Lawton, Norman, Oklahoma City, Stillwater and Sand Springs.
 
Since 2000, more than 7,500 Oklahoma families have been supported by the event. Heupel, Oklahoma's quarterbacks coach, began the foundation when he was a player at OU. He was the quarterback on the Sooners' 2000 National Championship team. Partnering with the 14 Foundation are OU's Football Program, the Regional Food Bank and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

ABC officials announced today that OU and Texas Tech will kick off at 2:30 p.m. (CT) next Saturday in Norman. Oklahoma will once again be defending the nation's longest home winning streak, currently at 35 games. It's the last time to see the Sooners at home in 2010.

ABC TO TELEVISE OU-TECH GAME
ABC has announced that it will televise the OU-Texas Tech game from Norman on Nov. 13. The network will wait until Sunday to announce the kickoff time, but has determined that it will be either 2:30 p.m., or 7 p.m. OU Athletics Ticket Office officials said today that less than 100 tickets remain for the game. They can be purchased online or by calling (800) 456-GoOU.
 
SCOUTING REPORT: TEXAS A&M
The big story out of College Station is Ryan Tannehill replacing Jerrod Johnson at quarterback. A&M has won its last two games with Tannehill taking a majority of the snaps under center. The Aggies' passing offense ranks sixth in the country at 322.0 ypg.
