Carter a Semifinalist for Lott Trophy

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation has announced that Oklahoma safety Quinton Carter is one of eight semifinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy annually goes to the college football player who has the biggest IMPACT on his team, on and off the field. IMPACT stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
The eight semifinalists are from eight different universities across the country. There are four defensive backs, three defensive linemen and one linebacker.
The semifinalists are: Carter, Sam Acho of Texas, Prince Amukumara of Nebraska, Jeron Johnson of Boise State, Ryan Kerrigan of Purdue, Casey Matthews of Oregon, Patrick Peterson of LSU and J.J. Watt of Wisconsin.
Carter, who was named to the American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team earlier this year, is currently Oklahoma's third-leading tackler with 54. He also has a pair of interceptions, a fumble recovery and four pass deflections.
Ballots will be sent to over 370 members of the Lott Trophy National Voter Panel, a list that includes Hall of Fame coaches and players, select members of the media and distinguished business leaders throughout the country.
Voting for the four finalists will take place from Nov. 12-24. The finalists will be flown to Newport Beach where the winner of the seventh annual Lott IMPACT Trophy will be announced at a gala black-tie banquet at the Pacific Club.
