Sooners Advance to Day Two of Qualifying

Paval Defeats Kielbowicz, Advances to Second Round

MANSFIELD, Texas – Sophomore Costin Paval advanced to the Futures of Mansfield singles main draw second round after defeating Joel Kielbowicz (886 ATP) Tuesday, at the Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas.

Paval dropped the first set, 6-3, and fell behind 5-3 in the second set, only to rally and take the set 7-6. With the match even at one-all, the returning All-American from Oklahoma found himself taking the third set, 6-4.
Senior
Ionut Beleleu is pitted against Denis Kudla (599 ATP) in the opening round of main draw action at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 20.

Paval returns to second round action Thursday, October 21.
