Constantinescu Earns Academic Honor

NORMAN, Okla.—University of Oklahoma women's tennis player Ana-Maria Constantinescu was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VI second team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.

The announcement brings Constantinescu's fourth honor of the post-season.  The sophomore standout was also named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team, All-Big 12 singles team and was selected as the Big 12 Player of the Year. 

Constantinescu completed the 2009 season undefeated in conference play and became the only player in Big 12 history to win every set in conference play at the No. 1 spot.  Constantinescu finished 19-2 overall and 12-0 in Big 12 play in singles.
