NORMAN, Okla.—The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team will close its regular season at home, the Sooners face No. 5 Baylor on Saturday, April 18 at noon and No. 67 Texas Tech on Sunday, April 19 at 1 p.m.

Oklahoma (8-12, 2-8 Big 12) is coming off a one-point loss to Oklahoma State on Wednesday, April 8. The Sooners rallied to tie the score at 3-3 before the Cowgirls claimed the final singles match to clinch the win. The Sooners got a much needed break following the OSU match after playing three road matches in five days.

"The team is well rested after our break last weekend, we're very excited to finish the season well,” OU head coach David Mullins said. “We expect a tough weekend of competition.”

Leading the Sooners in singles will be sophomore Ana-Maria Constantinescu. Constantinescu leads the Big 12 at the No. 1 singles position, Constantinescu is 9-0 in Big 12 play and 16-2 overall.

In doubles, sophomore Tara Eckel and freshman Marie-Pier Huet look to continue their success at the No. 2 spot. Eckel and Huet are leading the Big 12 at the No. 2 doubles position, the duo is 8-1 in Big 12 play and 13-3 overall.

THE OPPONENTS
Baylor (16-4, 7-0 Big 12) is ranked No. 5 nationally and currently leads the Big 12 standings. The Lady Bears' four losses all came to opponents currently ranked in the top 10, including No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Duke and No. 4 Notre Dame. Baylor's last loss was against No. 8 California on March 10, 2009, the team currently holds a 14-match winning streak.

“Baylor is having another outstanding year and Texas Tech has had a number of significant wins this year,” Mullins said. “This weekend will definitely prepare us for the Big 12 Championships next week."

No. 67 Texas Tech (9-10, 4-4 Big 12) won its last two matches against Kansas State and Kansas. The Lady Raiders defeated Kansas State, 6-1, and Kansas, 4-2. Tech holds a slight series advantage over the Sooners with a 10-9 record against Oklahoma. The Sooners have defeated Tech the past two seasons.

WEEKEND PROMOTIONS
During the Baylor match on Saturday, April 18, the first 50 fans in attendance will receive a free OU visor and OU Tennis t-shirt. The first 25 fans in attendance on Sunday, April 19, will receive a free pair of pink OU Crocs and an OU Tennis t-shirt. Additionally, children in eighth grade and younger can participate in a five-point tiebreaker match against the members of the Oklahoma women's tennis team in the “Beat the Sooners Challenge.”

SENIOR DAY
Seniors Brittany Baldy and Kate Robinson will be honored during a special ceremony on Sunday during the Texas Tech match at the conclusion of doubles play and prior to singles warm-ups.
