NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team continues its four-match road series Tuesday, March 17 against UNLV in Las Vegas, Nev.
No. 64 Oklahoma (6-6, 0-2 Big 12) enters Tuesday's match coming off its second loss in Big 12 play. The Sooners lost a tough road match Friday against No. 61 Colorado, falling to the Buffs, 4-3.
"We have had a couple of great days of practice out here in Vegas," OU head coach David Mullins said. "We are looking forward to another great matchup in UNLV tomorrow."
UNLV (8-6) is coming off a 5-2 win against St. Mary's College on Saturday. UNLV has lost four of its last six matches but is 9-3 at home. UNLV started the season ranked No. 39 in the ITA top 75, the Lady Rebels were ranked in the top 75 seven-straight weeks until dropping out of the top 75 last week.
Leading the way for the Sooners are sophomore Ana-Maria Constantinescu and freshman Marie-Pier Huet. Constantinescu leads the team with a 9-1 singles record at the No. 1 singles spot. Constantinescu's only loss came against No. 32 Tulsa on March 4. Huet holds a 9-3 singles record on the season and clinched the upset against Tulsa for the Sooners.
