NORMAN, Okla.--The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team heads to Boulder, Colo., Friday, March 13 to face No. 62 Colorado in its second Big 12 match of the season.

The Sooners (6-5, 0-1 Big 12) enter Friday's match after earning their first national ranking in three years.  The Sooners are ranked No. 64 as a team in the most recent ITA top 75, released on Tuesday.  OU earned its ranking after a successful three-match series last week.  OU upset No. 32 Tulsa on the road Wednesday, beating the Golden Hurricane, 4-3.  The win against Tulsa was OU's biggest upset in the last four seasons.  Following the upset, OU swept a Sunday doubleheader against Oral Roberts and Oklahoma Baptist, defeating both teams, 7-0.

"This spring break trip presents a lot of great opportunities for the team to build on our recent success," OU head coach David Mullins said. "It will be the hardest road trip we take all year, but I have no doubt that we will come back a better team."

Colorado (4-5, 0-0 Big 12) is coming off a three-match losing streak to three ranked opponents.  Colorado has played eight of its nine matches against ranked opponents, including five teams that are ranked in the top 40.  Friday's match against OU will be Colorado's first Big 12 match of the season.

Leading the way for the Sooners will be sophomore standout Ana-Maria Constantinescu.  Constantinescu, ranked No. 6 in the Central Region, holds an 8-1 record at the No. 1 singles spot on the season.  Constantinescu's only loss in singles came against Tulsa on March 4.  Freshman Marie-Pier Huet also looks to continue her success in singles against Colorado.  Huet holds an 8-3 singles record and clinched the win against Tulsa on March 4, defeating Rebecca Row, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
