NORMAN, Okla.—The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team faces its third ranked opponent of the season, No. 75 Wisconsin, on Saturday, Feb. 28 and will open Big 12 play against Missouri on Sunday, March 1.
The Sooners will face both opponents in Columbia, Mo., playing Wisconsin at 1 p.m. Saturday, and Missouri at 2 p.m. Sunday.
OU (3-3) enters the weekend's duals after going 1-1 on the road last weekend against two Big Ten opponents. The Sooners defeated Penn State, 6-1, on Friday, Feb. 20 before losing to Purdue, 6-1, on Saturday, Feb. 21.
Leading the Sooners will be sophomore Ana-Maria Constantinescu. Constantinescu, ranked No. 6 in the Central Region in singles, remains unbeaten at the No. 1 singles spot this season.
"This weekend will be very similar to last weekend,” OU head coach David Mullins said. “We will play two very evenly matched teams in Missouri and Wisconsin.”
Wisconsin (3-6) has faced six ranked opponents this season, including No. 6 Duke, No. 10 Miami and No. 12 North Carolina. The Badgers are coming off their first win over a ranked opponent, defeating then-ranked No. 75 Marquette, 5-2.
“Every single point will be closely contested the entire weekend,” Mullins said. “I am looking forward to getting my first Big 12 season underway when we play Missouri on Sunday."
Missouri (4-3) was previously ranked No. 75 nationally before falling to No. 52 Minnesota, 5-2, on Saturday, Feb. 21. The Tigers have faced three ranked opponents this season, including a 5-2 win over No. 69 SMU.
