Daescu Drops Match

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Andrei Daescu fell to Wisconsin's Marek Michalicka in the round of 16 at the 2009 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Yale.

Daescu, No. 40 nationally, dropped the match in two sets to the nation's No. 34 player, 6-2, 6-1.

“Andrei has had a stellar fall,” said John Roddick. “Hopefully he can build on this and come out strong in the spring.”

Now the Sooners wait for spring play to begin in January. Look for the 2010 spring schedule to be released within the month.
